-There are two bean shaped, fist size organs called kidneys located at the back just below the rib cage. The kidneys tasks are to filter blood and remove waste. The blood enters the kidneys via the Renal Artery and leaves via the Renal Vein. Inside each kidney, blood is channeled into a million tiny filters, called a glomerulus. They also produce urine which is made from water and waste products. The kidneys belong to the anatomic system known as the urinary system.
